Project Description

CLARITY

The brink of Lower Falls reveals a magnificent view of the Yellowstone River as it carves and sidewinds through the canyon walls.

Yellowstone is one of my favorite National Parks because here everything is alive.  The geyser dynamics, the slow moving fog, the shadows of wildlife off in the distance, and the roar of the river rapids add to its mystique.  Perhaps there is no better place to feel the sheer force of nature than at the brink of the Lower Falls, where millions of gallons of water crash 308 feet into the river that has carved out the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.  On this date I chanced an afternoon rainbow down the valley, its colors along with cotton-like clouds pulling you into the valley downstream.  I am not a fan of shifting the horizon perspective, but I made an exception here to capture the disorientation felt by witnessing the power of the Yellowstone itself.
