CABIN VIEW

Lower Yosemite Falls is revealed by the soft sidelight of an early morning sun.

John Muir built a cabin just below Lower Yosemite Falls where he lived for two years, waking up to the symphony of the birds, the roar of the river, and this view of the Falls.  What an eternally peaceful lifestyle.  I don’t think I would like to live in such seclusion for such an extended period of time, but it’s undeniable views like this brings my heart content.  On this morning I was greeted by some amazing sidelight cast upon the large pine tree running parallel to the waterfall.  I waited for nearly an hour for a break in the wind, but finally saw an opening to capture this long exposure.

“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings, Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.” – John Muir
