First light hits the Grand Teton as the park dances with pockets of Autumn color.

Driving the Teton Park Road can be distracting with eye-catching views around every curve.  I’ve had my sights on this shot for years now but never had the optimal conditions to shoot it (which also happens to be a trend for nearly all my pre-visualized compositions).  However on this frigid morning with clear skies overhead and the aspen grove nearing peak, I saw an opportunity.  2017 was a spectacular year for Fall colors nearly everywhere, but some groves in the Tetons such as the one in Oxbow Bend were slow to assimilate.  Luckily this strand of trees were bursting with color, their vibrant orange and yellow leaves forming a strong juxtaposition with the soothing blue and purple hues of the Grand imbued by the rising sun.
